Author Software upgrade for LG VX8300?

Has anyone heard about the V02 upgrade for this phone?
What does it "fix"/upgrade?

I just got my phone about 13 days ago, and it's still V01.

If I head back to the Verizon store, what are the chances
I can get a phone with the V02 of the software?

They will flash your current phone up to the later software; they will not
replace your phone. Just go to a store that has a tech onsite and available
[check online for this information] and you should be able to have it upgraded
.... with a little wait.

I, too, just got my phone early this week.

How do I know if my phone is VO1 or VO2?

Thank you. I found it and mine is also the VO1. There are two company
stores nearby. Perhaps I'll drop in sometime and ask about a flash
upgrade to VO2.

I'm assuming that VO2 is preferred?

What's included in this upgrade?

Are you having issues? If not, I wouldn't worry about it. I do know there is
supposed to be a software update to turn on MP3 ability and some other minor
things, but I am not aware of any bug fixes. As far as MP3 goes, you can
google up the method of turning that on yourself.

No clue -- clearly I haven't bothered to upgrade.

Wasn't the mp3 player supposed to be included in the original software
package? I was going to get a card & load songs for my wife's phone but
haven't done it yet. What's up with the "turning that on" statement?

It is, but it is shut off. Instead, they allow you to use Windows Media files
only. It is easy to turn it on though ... and takes only about one minute
after you do a little googling.
