VZW Unlimited Data and SMS

| Reading over stuff on the Web, I notice people getting this plan, which
gives them essentially free SMS with their unlimited data plan on VZW:
PDA SMS 2000 ALLOWANCE, code 70246
When I called a VZW rep, I was told that that plan is specific for certain
companies and not universally available, and my SMS is not included in my
unlimited plan. Anyone know about this?

I believe that plan is specific to PDA phones, and from what I can tell
the SMS and Data plans are split up. Where did you get that code from?

I finally got it when I called the next day to activate my new Treo
700p. Took a while, but the CSR finally found it by using that code.

Forgot to mention that you're right that this is for PDA phones, but wrong
in thinking you have to split SMS from DATA. The plan I cited replaces your
SMS plan, and costs nothing, as long as you have the unlimited DATA plan
from Verizon for your smartphone.

I have a 700p with unlimited data plan. However, I have called VZW three
times to ask about "PDA SMS 2000 ALLOWANCE, code 70246" and each time,
the rep told me it was only available to certain accounts. When I asked
what criteria must be met to be a "certain" account...the reps said a
large business account.
How did you get them to enable this for you?
