My girlfriend and I both have the "V" flip keyboard phones. She's deaf, and it really comes in handy. We've already got their "extended" text message packages.

She made the mistake last month of letting her 11 year old daughter use it for a weekend.

She enabled the instant messaging function, and went to town chatting with her little friends. About $500 bucks worth. Don't kids just jabber anymore?

Anywho, has anyone else had anything like this happen? Does the company have anything in place to maybe cut us a deal? The person I spoke with at their customer service outfit basically told me I was outta luck.

If that's the case, they just lost a pair of 10-year-plus customers.

So, hey, does anyone have any ideas? I mean, we didn't buy these phones to take pictures or movies or use as MP3 players, which seems to be the main reason for a lot of folks... That $500 extra really hurt us, and the guy we talked to from their customer service outfit was pretty much "It's not my problem." IMHO, stuff like that should stay turned off unless specifically contractually agreed to...

FWIW, I'll bet we've sold a lot of the dang keyboard phones too... Deaf folks (and their families) love 'em.
