I had an LG VX4650 and recently switched to a LG VX6100. I use bitpim
to backup my phone book, I had created a couple images, and 4 or 5
ring tones. I hooked up the 6100 and bitpim found the phone, copied
the images, but I received an error message when it attempted to
upload the phone book. (Unfortunately I did not get a screen shot of
the error.) I tried copying the phone book two more times, still
receiving the error. So I thought maybe the phone needed to be power
cycled. When I powered the phone back on it is locked at the Verizon
image. The keypad lights up and the a red light stays on opposite the
flash. I removed the battery, but when I attempt to power it back on
it will immediately display the Verizon image and not attempt to "boot
up". I attempted to use bitpim to remove the images and ring tones,
but the phone will not communicate with my pc.

So I don't know if I filled up the phone's memory and that is causing
it to lock...I would hope it would have more than 500k of memory, or
if the images/ring tones were in a format that the 6100 is not
compatible with???

Does anyone know of a way I can clear or flash the memory back to the
factory specs?

Any suggestions would GREATLY be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Thomas

Take it back where you bought it and have them replace it.

.....and adding to what Meat Plow says, don't mention anything about
BitPim to them.
