Author Messages from myself on Verizon?

For the past three days, I keep getting text messages at anytime day
and night "From:[my number]" just saying "hello". There is no reply
number in the heading and they're all marked Urgent.

These are annoying. Any clue of what causes that.

Someone is sending you e-mail, from a computer, and forging your number
as the "From" party. It's easy to do with the right mail client.

I think it's a ghost trying to communicate with you. Yup! EVP for the
digital age. Seriously, it could be from anyone just using your number as
the return like the others posted here. It could even be someone who is shy
but has the hots for you.

Wow, I never thought of that. I guess that can be done fairly easily.
So in theory you can say it's from anyone by forging the from headers.
