| I bought into Axcess TV on my new E815 ($79) I got from Alltel Friday.
Serves me right for paying my bill walking by all those little toys!
I sure wish the carriers, including Alltel, would, RIGHT UP FRONT, tell
the customers these phones CANNOT do digital things and CELLULAR PHONE
simultaneously. (I called my number from Skype and was instantly sent to
voicemail with the TV running. After waiting 1 hour, 16 minutes, 5
seconds for someone to answer the phone on 1-800-ALLTEL1, because I
pressed 2 for help with data services, where you have to wait 1 hour, 16
minutes, 5 seconds for someone to answer the damned phone at 8PM on
Saturday night, the guy who answered the phone confirmed it wouldn't RING
while it was on data rendering Fox News. I've worked around this by
forwarding my cellphone call to my Skype Phone, while I'm home. I won't
watch much TV during business hours...(sigh). Customers don't like
voicemail....$$$$$$
I've got another little tip if you have an E815 or similar speaker phone
and Axcess (or Vcast) TV! Plug the phone into its charger, to try to
recover some power from watching too much TV..(c;. Now, plugged into the
charger, take an empty plastic 8 oz disposable cup and put the bottom of
the phone down into the cup so the cord rests on the bottom. Choose a
cup the screen sticks out the top of. THE TV SOUND SOUNDS LIKE A CONSOLE
from the "reentrant horn" PA speaker you've created with the audio coming
out of the phone at the bottom of the cup projecting out the TAPERED HORN
the cup has become. Even the MP3 music sounds quite hifi and REALLY
LOUD! Try it....(c;
Man this thing recharges fast....great phone E815.

Don't know. My "every two" is coming up, if there's no 815 I won't be
upgrading. It's the *only* cell phone I've ever had that's worked for
me!
As always, YMMV.

It seems like the V325i (the one with BT) is the logical step from the
E815. That'll probably be my next one, although I still love my E815
and I'm not looking forward to upping just yet. A tip for extending
the E's battery life is (if you don't use it), disable the EV-DO in
the diagnostics menu. The procedure is online, although I can't put my
finger on it right now. For mine, it's probably doubled my battery
time with normal usage, and I can still send PIX messages and access
Weatherbug without any problems.

My 815 recently was replaced by Vz with a refurbed 815. Those are still
available through Vz cs. I first went to the Vz store thinking the
'tech' people could help me with the problem, but those folks are quite
'tech' enough. The person I was dealing with first told me the 815 was
no longer available, but then she asked someone more knowledgable and
found out how to order an 815. The refurb I received is like brand-new.
No scratches anywhere/the flip is tight/bright screen/camera lense and
bezel are perfect and it is faster than my old one. The CS guy I talked
with at Vz told me I could have bought the phone for $50 had I not gone
the replacement route......may/may not be true, I didn't know that
before my phone arrived and I called to activate the 'new' one. Anyway,
they are still available from Vz.

If your current phone is out of warrantee and there is a major problem
with it you can purchase a refurb from Verizon for $50+ tax. I have
done this in the past and like you have found the refurbs to be as good
as, if not, better than new.
