Verizon's new slogan

| "We Never Stop Screwing You" ... this month they almost doubled the
"administrative charge" from $.40 to $.70 per line. Thirty cents may
not seem like a lot but when multiplied by 50 million lines (I really
don't know how many customers they have) that represents $15 million a
month in additional revenue with no additional cost. Great business.

That's what we live with based on minimum regulation. Try and find out
exactly what an "administrative charge" is and see the babel-speak you
get from Verizon or any other carrier! It is the same with any utility,
power/gas/landline.

| I suppose we could all get together and petition the government to take over
the utilities. Then we'd have nothing to XXXXX about

From 'Answers to FAQs' (http://tinyurl.com/2myvrh)
"It also includes an Administrative Charge, which helps defray certain
costs we incur, currently including (i) charges we, or our agents, pay
local telephone companies for delivering calls from our customers to
their customers, (ii) fees and assessments on network facilities and
services, and (iii) certain costs and charges associated with
proceedings related to new cell site construction."

In other words, "you pay for our general overhead but we hide it in an
administrative charge so that we can advertise lower plan rates".
Not that this is a-typical these days...
