Wireless Broadband -- Static IP or lookup IP address.

| I just got a verizion wireless device USB720.. It works well. In my
application it will be on a robot and I need to connect to it with
REMOTE DESKTOP.. I need to know the IP address or I can't find it.
If it loses connection and reestablishs it the IP address will
change.. Is there any way to lookup the phone number and find it's
current IP address.
I saw in another note that they charge $500 one time charge for a
static IP associated with the device? Is this an option?
Are there any other hacks like having the system send it's IP
somewhere that I can go looking..
Thanks,
Jon

I guess you could use dynamic DNS. This company
http://www.dyndns.com
will do it for a couple of hosts for free.

| My ip changes rarely even though its dynamic - I'm on cablevision.
My linux machine watches for a change and emails the facts to an
account I can access from outside.
