My wife's phone is a LG VX4400. It has a button on the side that
turns off the ring/vibrator. The way she carries the phone it is
constantly getting turned off. Much of the value of a cell phone is
lost if it isn't on.

Has anybody had this problem? What did you do about it?

Lots of people had this problem with the 4400. The only thing you can do
about it is upgrade to another phone. Or... put some kind of case on it that
will prevent it.

Personally, I miss the ability to turn off the ring from the outside without
opening the phone. All the new LG phones no longer have this ability. Just
for the reason you describe, I guess. Including my 8300.

I'm going to put some superglue in the space around the button and see
if that doesn't lock it.

That might work but that button's other function is to activate voice dial
when the phone is open so she'd lose that-- if she uses it.
