SCH-A990 and Motorola S9 Bluetooth
|

| I just got the Motorola S9 Bluetooth headset. It paired easily with
my SCH-A990, and I can use it for phone calls. The problem is that
music won't play onto the headphones! The music comes out of the
external speaker on the phone even when paired with the S9. Does
anyone have advice?

| There is no problem, unless you cal Verizon's limiting bluetooth
capabilities a problem.
The feature is just not there.
As long as we are on the 990, I bought one and am pretty happy with
it.
BUT
The phone is capable of using bluetooth headphones, bluetooth faxing
and playing MP3's in addition to WMA's to name a few missing features.
My guess is that if Verizon gives you just enough features but leaves
others out, when two years is up, you will be more likely to upgrade.
I bought the 990 mainly for the 3.2 megapixel camera so I left my
other complaints behind. If it had just a couple more features, I
might keep it for a few years more.
Sorry but there is no answer you are going to like.

| And in two years you think Verizon will turn on the extra features ? Nope.
The 815 has been out for 2 years now and they still have Bluetooth crippled.
I left Verizon. My new phone with all the Bluetooth working is great. Pairs
with my GPS to allow the phone to talk to the GPS.
Lots of people don't even know about all the things these phones can do if
not limited like Verizon does. Once they find out there then told It's a
security safeguard by Verizon. Yeah. They should just say we want to suck
you dry of your cash.

Not on my 815, I invested energy in the several mouse clicks required
to enable it.

Verizon doesn't limit the phone, people too lazy to enable the features
limit the phone.

OK, tell me how to enable bluetooth faxing on my Samsung SCH A 990.
How do I enable the phone's native ability to play MP3's?
I have invested many mouse clicks and scrolling through web pages to
find out how and they are not there. I am not a hacker in the sense
that I can figure out the hacks. I can enable them if told how to get
there.

| Yes, 815. And on a V3C and a V3m.
Seem edits really aren't that hard. If it is beyond one's comfort
level, there is probably someone that would do it for you on HoFo.
All phone do everything I want. (With reg edits, my Q does also)
And, yes, it is unfortunate and asinine for VZW to lobotomize their
hardware, (force OEM to do it for them).
No argument there. Just that it is just about as easy to actually fix
the problem as it is to complain about it. Hofo is your friend.

| Of course anyone can do that. But with that, They take the chance to brick
the phone. That's not the point here.
Tell the avg Joe to do that. The point was, Is, Buying it from Verizon, It's
crippled.
