According to VZW's website:

http://mobileoptions.vzw.com/intern...ling_plans.html

They no longer be offer the North America's Choice plans (US + Canada
+ Mexico) as of 5/16/07.

From the website:

NOTE: Effective May 16, 2007, Verizon Wireless will discontinue
offering the North America’s Choice plans to customers not subscribed
to any of these plans. Customers subscribed to Individual or Family
Share North America’s Choice plans on November 16, 2007 will be able
to change monthly access and add new lines to their plans anytime
after November 16, 2007 as long as they remain subscribed to the plan.

I wonder if they will offer anything to replace it, or just not offer
anything at all (besides expensive roaming, of course)

I had a feeling they might do this since their costs may be increasing
due to the change in the way calls to Mexican mobile phones are charged.
Their long distance rate for calling Mexican mobiles from the US is
due to increase on 6/24/07.

Of course, even if the above weren't true, the NAC plan was a particularly
good deal if you needed it. My use in Mexico has more than paid for
the entire cost of the plan compared to any alternative I know of,
including local Mexican phone service. This by itself made it an
exception in Verizon's price list which wasn't likely to stay there.

I don't know, but they are cutting back on roaming in northern Mexico,
which stinks if you have to drive there. They also have no EVDO
data roaming in Mexico even though Sprint has both pay-as-you-go and unlimited
options there (the latter is a bit pricey, but not bad compared to the
alternatives if you need it frequently). And, while they have a price for
sending text messages from Mexico I wouldn't count on this working because
it never has for me; the messages sit in the phone until I get back to the US.

Nuts, I was just 3 weeks away from subscribing for the summer. Guess I'd
better budget for much higher charges for work in Mexico.
