Best place to rent a mobile phone in Vancouver, B.C (My Verizon rates are too steep)

| I have Verizon Wireless mobile phone service in the United States.
I will be spending a week in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Verizon charges .
69 cents a minute for all calls while roaming in Canada and another 49
cents a minute for calls to a US #.
This is going to quickly add up for me.
Can anyone recommend a place in Vancouver or mail order rental service
that offers weekly mobile phone rentals at practical rates? It doesn't
pay for me to pay more than $30 for basic rental fees for the week
(usage not included).
Thanks

Buy a phone card. About 3 cents a minute.

So he uses the 69-cent-per-minute rate to call the phone-card number to
get the 3-cent-per-minute rate? What incoming number does he give his
business associates, friends and family, to get him at the 3-cent-per-minute
rate? Or are you saying he should give up mobile phone use while in Canada,
which doesn't answer his question at all?

It's funny how quickly liberal atheists can develop a belief in hell
when someone they hate dies.

Use a public phone with the phone card. How much do you think the Canada
cell phone will cost him for international calls. May be even more than
than the 69 cents his US phone will charge him. Last summer we took 7 weeks
and drove to Alaska. Used Email and the cell phone for contact with the US
and kids. Cell phones are worthless after you get maybe 1/3 the way through
BC. Very little cell coverage. And used a phone card for phoning my mom
while on the trip in Canada. She being 92, likes to hear from us. If you
use the phone card to call back someone, you are only going to cost the 69
cents for the minute to get their number. And if you require lots of
minutes for business, it is tax deductible. Just make it a cost of
business.
