Transfer numbers from a broken phone?

| My wife broke the connector on the bottom of her vx5200. I got a
vx5300 to replace it. I would like to know if there is a way to back
up the numbers on the broken phone via a cellular connection, then
restore them to the new phone. I can't do it with bitpim because the
connector doesn't work. I didn't know if there was a service where I
could somehow transmit the contact list to them.

Verizon claims to offer that as a free service to customers from
their Web site:
Manage your phone's contact list online
• Store a copy of your phone's contact list.
• View, add and update your contacts from your computer.
• Send updates to your phone at the click of a button or schedule
automatic updates.
• Transfer contact list to your new phone, when
you upgrade or if your phone is lost or stolen.
Service is free for My Account customers
I've never used it, so I can't say how well it works.
Go to http://www.verizonwireless.com/ to set up access to "My
Account".

You can do that online for free if you have an account on the VZW web page--
or for $2/month if you don't. Use the Get It Now app.
