OK, this is really getting XXXXing annoying. I'm sure the iPhone is
going to be a very
fine product when it comes out, but in the mean time, stop blasting
these newsgroups
with swoons over it, OK? It's getting freaking annoying, and it makes
it look like you are a paid shill for Apple. Everybody knows about the
iPhone by now.

No you don't. Rate plans were not posted until today.

Procedures for activation was not announced until today.

You did know that Apple may sell as many as 200,000 iPhones this
weekend? You heard it here first.

Folks are already queueing up at some Apple stores to buy an iPhone
on Friday at 6 PM.

Whether we like it or not, the iPhone is news, and, IMO, news-worthy. Hell,
it might not even be called the iPhone by the time it's introduced because
Cisco apparently has some claim to that name. But the real news to Verizon
subscribers is whether the introduction of the iPhone acts like the
proverbial tide that lifts all boats. Wouldn't it be good news for
consumers (especially Verizon customers) to be able to get phones with
better software, more flexibility, and uncrippled functions? Verizon has
shown that they are not generally a leader in those areas. I'm sort of
stuck with Verizon due to reception issues, so let's hope the iPhone forces
them to respond. That way we all win. I'm not holding my breath by the
way!

Apple and Cisco came to an agreement about that months ago.

So maybe people should be posting all irrelevant news to all these
included groups as well.

Posting a link or the entire text to every news story that's vaguely
about the iPhone is nothing but spam.

So you crossposted to all these groups just to mention the iPhone once
again? :-D

You have a point. It is sort of like posting about iPods and Chevys, as
you did on 6/17/07. iPhone has the potential of influencing the entire
mobile phone community...including Verizon. You could throw away your iPod
and just listen to your "phone". I could have a phone with true Bluetooth
capabilities. That makes it news worthy, cause heaven knows there are areas
where Verizon needs improvement.

No, more likely they're all just pathetic apple fanboys. If you've never
been in a Mac newsgroup you wouldn't understand their bizzare cult worship.
It's sad, really, but if that's what makes their pathetic lives worthwhile,
whatever...

I agree, give the newsgroup bullshit a rest.

Well, they have 2 dyas left to do it. Apple better start printing up
those stickers to
hastly print over the brand name already printed on them. :)

This hype seems very familiar...ah yes, just a little over a hlaf year
ago, people were getting pumped up
about the PlayStation 3. Infact, people were getting robbed of their
PS3 boxes and shot and stabbed while
waiting in line for them. The Playstation 3 now? Many stores have a
hard time selling them (the Wii
went out like hotcakes, I heard.) and the platform is in danger of
going the way of the Sega Saturn of
the mid 90's. This is not to say the iPhone will fail like this
(different market/function for one thing), but
they seem to be realy loading up the KoolAid, much like what happened
with the PS3.

Let me hear an amen to this ::::AMEN!!!!:::::

Verizon is notorious for locking down and crippling their phones.

The way I see it, if the iPhone sells like hotcakes, good for them.
But I am not interested in it,
nor do I care to be sucked into the hype machine or hear the constant
thunderous roars of the
hype machine. For one thing, there is no SDK for it yet which means no
running 3rd party software
on the "bare metal" of the phone. Very bad.

Yeah we know the Apple Fanboys are lifeless and bizzare. But they bear
watching. They are a danger to us all.
Did you know that the majority of serial killers use Macs? Did you know
that a majority of child molestors are also mac users?
It's really a disease and should be classified as such. We need to keep
people from using macs and medicate the ones that do. Mactardation is a
disease that affects us all.

You got citations for either of these? I looked through Psych
Abstracts, MedLine, and a Criminal Justice journal database and couldn't
find any thing, although I am the first to admit it is sorta hard to ask
the right questions of the dbs in this case.

I know the chances are slim that he has one, but then I get to make
fun of him if he replies in the negative, learn something on the off
chance he can actually back it up. Sounds like a no-lose situation from
my standpoint.
The fact that I got a rise out of you was an unintended extra

Call it annoying, call it fanboyism, but it's NOT astroturfing. Apple's
one of those companies that doesn't have to resort to paying individuals
to blow sunshine or FUD around the media and the net.

That's that *other* company...
