If it came down to having a network without good coverage or having a
"toy" phone, I'd choose the network. I want to make and receive calls on
my cell phone and not have to worry if there is a signal. With Verizon,
I have service in many, many more places than AT&T does. That means I
can use my phone for what it was intended...telephone calls!

What good is it in having a phone that can preform tricks like a circus
Poodle when it won't get a signal.

Heretic!!! Don't you understand it's more important to earn the temporary
envy of teenagers in San Jose than do something so mundane like place a
phone call.

People who want a multi-functional device on a first-rate network...that's
who. Hopefully the iPhone will move us ALL in that direction. Using your
reasoning we might all still be watching black & white TV, or for that
matter searching for a pay phone.

An expensive toy that will break within a month.

I use a cell phone for voice calls. I use my ipod for MP3s. I use a
laptop computer to surf the web when I'm not at home. But I don't want
an all in one device that is just a lot of eye candy and is bound to
break the minute I walk out the door of the store.
