Urgent: warranty expiring soon

| I bought my phone (Motorolla V325) in a hurry, without proper
research, after moving from abroad almost a year ago.
The main issue with it is that the battery dies after about 5 minutes
of conversation. If I turn it off for half an hour, it's good to go
again for an extra few minutes. Another, comparatively minor, issue is
that it sometimes lets calls through, even when it's switched to
"silent" or "alarm only".
My 1 year warranty is going to expire in a few days, I think. Should I
take it back to the store, or order a new battery somewhere? It's my
only phone, and I wouldn't want to be with it for very long, so I'm
reluctant to send it to any service places.

Take it back and see what they say. They may have a replacement in
stock.

DUH!
Take it back unless you just feel great about spending $$$$ on a new
battery.

Not sure the batt warranty is a full year-- may be less. What do you mean by
calls that "come through"? They're supposed to come through-- just not ring
(vibrate or light only depending on setting/phone.

I know from experience that it's no picnic dealing with the likes of
Verizon when it comes to warranties. In fact, I got a email from them
saying that the replacement value for batteries is 25% in months 7-12.
The phone manual simply says that the warranty is 1 year.
Had I just shown up at the store unprepared, they might have been able
to bullshit me.
