Turn on Phone remotely?

remotely to help me find it?

Don't think so--- and if little miss is old enough to have a cellie, she--
not you-- should be finding it....and paying for it if it can't be found.

YUp, Agree 100%. She'e phoneless now. What got me was we just renewed
and it's one month old, but I will reactivate one og the old ones since
the contract as 23 months left on it.

| Just my opinion: I agree with much of what you wrote, including my personal
opinion that a 10 year old for most situations has little to no need for a
cell phone. That being my opinion, none of my children had cell phones when
they were 10. What gives you the authority to determine that her 10 year old
or any other 10 year old but your own, "should not be having a cell phone"

as may be a communication error between us, assuming your response is
directed at me, which it appears to be.
Particularly let's begin with "any other 10 year old but your own". as
quoted from your message, above. Where did I say that? My kids did not have
cell phones when they were 10. My statement was more general about all 10
year olds, my own included. And, it was qualified with this statement, "And
if you deem she needs to for some reason, that she should have some
responsibility and be held accountable", leaving it open in my judgement for
a parent to decide that their kid does need one.
Secondly, you're right, I have no "authority" to determine choices for other
people. But opinions were expressed here and that was mine. There is
sometimes a tendency for semantics to be inaccurate, but that is all that is
a case of. Judge the general content of what I say. Try not to nit-pick the
semantics.
Last, I was a teacher and a guidance counselor in a large urban school
system. I am currently a part owner of two children's day camps. I can tell
you with some authority that cell phones in the hands of kids in schools and
camps creates more problems than they can possibly solve. I'd like to show
you some of the ways kids are using their cell phones. You might be appalled
if you don't already know.
