Author interesting therory about Verizon upgrade.
Nobody you want to meet....

I lost my cell phone few days ago, and after looking around for a while, I
had a month left before renewing it. i was planning to go contract free,
since I hate their contract deal.

I went into the store and explained my situation, and was presented wtih two
options:

1) i can go ahead and do early upgrade, and replace the phone
2) I can opt for insurance, but it'll cost me more money.

I was like " Ummmm my deductible should be 50 dollar thats it" What i
didn't know that the closer u are t upgrading the phone, the higher the
insurance deductible. It didn't make sense to me, so I left the store
without doing anything until I investigage into that by calling customer
service online. Believe me, Everyone on this post was talking about how
you shouldn't go into the store asking intelligent questions, and they can't
even answer it.

On the other hand, I noticed something about upgrading the phone. I was
thinking if I had upgraded the phone.. got the phone i wanted at discount,
let's pretend.. LG Chocoate for 79.99 for two years. Halfway through the
contract, you're tired of that phone, and wants another one. Hmm LG ENV.
gotta paid 259.99 for that ( not the actual cost, but i'm assuming ) I can
alway go on Ebay, but it'll be high. Now, what You can do is ask any of
your friends who is planning to upgrade the phone and you can offer to
switch the phone with them. Here's some example:

friend A has LG chocolate for 9 months, barely used it. never dropped it
or anything. Friend B wants to upgrade the plan for same phone that friend
A has. FriendA gives the phone to Friend B. Friend B gives the new phone to
Friend A. I wonder if that will work? I mean there are some people who
perfer rebufurinsed phones. Interesting thoughts? is anyone actually
losing money in this plan?

It sounds like you have one basic misunderstanding of the business world in
general. Let me help. The objective of all businesses is to move money from
your pocket to theirs. Does that help?

Frankly, this whole post is a little nuts. Do you really spend this much
time trying to figure out how to beat the system over a few dollars?

And why would Friend B want to enter into a 2 year contract in order to get
your 9 month old technology, used (albeit undropped) phone?

You could buy a replacement phone on eBay. Then, you won't have to renew
your contract.
