Let's have a REAL brief history lesson, shall we?
They certainly didn't "crush" the personal computer industry.
Never have - NEVER will...
Just what market share does Apple have?? Here is the FACTS:
(Gartner 1/07, so the numbers may have changed a bit)
Hewlett-Packard’s market share totaled 17.4 percent
Dell remained in the No. 2 position with its market share total of 13.9 percent.
Apple's share remains relatively flat 3.7 percent
"CRUSH"....!??? Hardly - actually the exact opposite.
Apple isn't even in the top 5!!!
Apple hasn't "crushed" shit!

:D Apple is dominating the computer market for computers that run MAC OS.
lol

so you are showing your ignorance again IMHO?
the actual history is Steve Jobs left Apple in 1985, then later that
year CEO Sculley signed over major portions of the User Interface of the
Mac to MS, the rest is history and millions have suffered ever since.
If Jobs had been around, Windows would have never materialized. Gates is
in total fear of Jobs and everyone knows that. Thankfully Jobs went on
to help create the world wide web, which is almost greater than the Mac,
but now that Apple is back in full control of the PC Industry it's hard
to say what will happen next.
Many Cell companies will die of course because of the mass popularity of
the iPhone, but what is next?
Everyone today uses the Mac OS in one form or another. Sure some still
use Windows, but everyone laughs at them for being so unproductive.
Macs are selling faster than any PC company running windows and this
will remain true until everyone is up to speed.

They crushed alright. Let's not forget they almost folded.
If it were not for the Microsoft bail out, they would have.

How could they "crush" what they created? Apple was the first mass
produced PC, first with a floppy drive, first with a Color monitor,
first withe a Case, first with a Keyboard, etc.
Now they are by far the leading PC firm, so nothing has changed.

Yes, but you are digging at the bottom of the barrel. Apple doesn't care
about "computers", or "dumb terminals" only "personal computers" which
it owns majority share.
> Apple's share remains relatively flat 3.7 percent
In the US it's 6.3% at last count and has been for the last few months.
3.7% goes way back to 2004. Sounds like you have bad data. Oops!
Apple is growing 3 times as fast as any other PC firm. Deal with it.

Ah, but Apple "controls" the PC market. HP, DeLL, others can't make a
move until Apple shows them the way... and that's been true for the last
ten years.
Sounds like Reality doesn't have a grasp on how the PC industry works.

When did that happen? Sure, Apple went through some rough times in the
mid 90's just like Microsoft and Dell are now experiencing. But they
never were in danger of "folding". They remained super rich even during
the dark times... with $1.1 billion in pure cash and very little debt.
Yes, Apple was in danger of becoming "smaller"... and they did drop from
about $11 Billion to $6 Billion in revenue, but they had strong support
in publishing, video, education, consumer and small business, so they
became smaller, but never even close to "folding". That was a PC myth.
Now Apple is the strongest PC vendor in the world, my, my how 10 years
can change things.

No, the figures are accurate - 3.7% - Q1 2007
No matter how you deny and spin, it still doesn't change the ACTUAL facts.
Your bullshit - is STILL bullshit.
Apple isn't even in THE TOP 5!!

The firm said Apple shipped 960,000 units within the U.S. during the
three-month period, good enough for a 5.6 percent share of the overall
U.S. PC market and fourth place on its list of top vendors.
and this was in Q2 -
learn how to check facts next time Reality.

If you were losing $7000 a year, would a one one time payment of $1500
really help you that much?
