Author locking side switches

I want a phone that I can program so that in my pocket side switches do
not operate, often nullifying ring as well as wearing out battery.

I hardly use these goddammed pieces of crap, but often when I need them
the ringers are off or the battery is shot, and this after I just
recharged them.

I noted some samsung phones have a hw switch lock. Any others? and does
this samsung lock everything? How good are their batteries?

My 2yr contract is up very soon. I think that my very old phones, even
using older battery technology were better. I just want a phone - I use
several computers for other functions.

I carry my RAZR V3m in my shirt pocket. I've had it for about four
months now and have had no problems with inadvertently operating
buttons. YMMV

Counterpoint: I've had two V3ms since they came out, mine carried in my pants
pocket, my wife's in her purse. Both of us have found that it's very, very easy
to hit the side button and lower the ring volume, without ever knowing about it
until it's too late, and you've missed a call. 8;(

How many times has it hit the ground when you lean way forward or bend over?

1) retired, T-shirts in summer, sweats+sweaters+turt
les in winter: no
pockets.
2) care for very small grandkids a lot, that takes lots of leaning over
so pockets no value.
3) tried a cord around neck and pouch, jumps around too much, also I
wonder if it is a good idea for phone to be too close to heart or for
young men and women to have them too close to gametes in pants pockets.

Meanwhile, one company, Samsung seems to start doing something about it.
Question, how well? And others? If we do not complain then we
deserve what we get.
