is it possible you have that specific phone somehow configured
to ONLY look for an analog signal ?
http://www.kyocera-wireless.com/230.../tech-specs.htm
as it is a CDMA capable phone

I used a 2325 on Verizon for a while and I remember that it had a "use
analog for next call" option; maybe it has one to go analog only.

It has 4 options:

1. Automatic
2. Analog Only
3. Analog Call
4. Digital Only

The only way the phone would work in that Forest Hills / Kew Gardens
neighborhood was when I (deliberately) set it for "ANALOG ONLY". Now,
there is no analog in that neighborhood, so I think this phone will
soon be a paperweight.... --Tom

do the other phones on the plan work there? if so, digital works, and it may
just be the digital part of your phone... does it work on digital anywhere
else?

He said they did.

lastly - are you also sure that it is not set to some B/A Roaming ?

Since the other phones work - and this phone is also CDMA...
that means there is something funny with this phone at that location,
since you said it works as a D phone at other locations - right ?

Yes, it works as a digital phone everywhere else. But, what is "B/A
Roaming"? Thanks, --Tom

Most newer phones don't have that, but that specific phone did, generally
east/west you set the phones to a/b roaming (whatever was supported where
you were at, was a for me in florida, but b when I went to alaska), now it's
usually home and roam (they used to have an a side roaming, and a b side,
now it's just generic roam or no....

Do you have a national plan or a local plan, There was an option for home
only, and if you have a national plan, it should work out of your area)....

have other q's)....

I don't know if our VZW family plan is "national" or "local". My
phone has always worked everywhere I've travelled in USA, though
(except the Kew Gardens, Queens area I've been talking about). Last
night I tried toggling "A/B Roaming" but didn't help. Took out
battery & restarted phone as well. But didn't help. So I guess it's
new-phone time. :( Thanks for pointer to manual, though! --Tom
