Is there such a thing?

My wife needs an air card a few weeks a year and while I don't mind the
$59/month I don't want to be locked into a contract.

Perhaps her using a Verizon phone with the ability to act as a modem would
be the better way to go, since you can start/stop phone data plans as you
please.

There are outlets that rent aircards, though some of the rates make
$59/month look palatable. Plug "aircard rental" into your search
engine of choice.

I bought an air card on ebay and VZW still wants a 12 month contract.
I think it sucks.
