I know that T-Mobile and PagePlus can do it. Probably not possible with
someone like Tracfone.

Can I port a VZW phone number (that I brought to them 5-6 years ago) to VZW
prepay...

I'm pretty sure that it's possible. Did you consider porting to
PagePlus? They use Verizon's network, and they are much, much less
expensive. You can use the same handset.
