Author Activating used Blackberry on Nextel - Experiences?

I'm looking to buy a Nextel Blackberrt 6510 or 7510 on eBay.

Is it as easy as inserting my existing Nextel SIM card (currently in my
Motorola i730) into the Blackberry and it working on the Nextel network
or is there more to this?

Thanks for any info or experiences you can share.

Hi, the Sim card is different. The blackberry has more capacity, IIRC. I
can take the sim card from my 7510 and stick it in my 730 and it works so I
can make calls but I do not get any contacts. I never tried taking an active
730 sim and sticking it in my blackberry but the rep told me it would not
work correctly, ie. you would not have full functionality of the blackberry.

you will want to get a blackberry sim, I do believe though that your
voice capabilities will work on the blackberry with the i730 sim, but i
don't think the blackberry services can be added to a i730 sim. btw the
reason the contacts dont show up on the 730 when you put the blackberry
sim back in is because the blackberry does not store contacts on the sim
but rather in internal memory.

ps stay away from the 6510. I would highly recommend you look for a
7520 in good condition, they are out there for not that much money and
it is far supperior to the 7510.

You can take a SIM from a 730 and put it into a BB, I know because I have
done this. You will not get your contacts, and for the unit to fully
function as a BB, you need to add a BB rateplan to your unit.

Stay away from the 6510, go with a 7510 or 20...
