Modifying and/or Unlocking an i530 and i315

| I just got a Nextel i530 and my wife has an i315. I have read about
unlocked Nextels, but what exactly does this do? Also, can I do this myself
if there are any benefits. Are the any negative consequences of unlocking?
Does it violate any warranties? Are there any other helpful modifications
for either the i530 or the i315?

| Unlocking in tradition would mean unlocking the subsidy lock in the
code plug to allow you to put another carrier's sim card into the
phone to use on another system.. aka nextel to telus..
Items to be "Unlocked" on these 2 model phones...
American Dialing, Voice Recorder, Voice activated dialing, and
other misc crap.. nextel would charge you $20 for the voice
recorder.. pm me or email me.. we can talk.. you need carrier rss
or rss super agent to get your code plug to be modified by someone
with the approiate tools.

do u ppl kno da special code to unlock it it says i need special code
with 8 numbers
