I have an i730. My wife has an old i1000 that about history.
I recently dumped Nextel and my i730 is just sitting here so I want to give
it to my wife.
I would like to be able to call Nextel and have them move her number to the
i730.
Will they do that over the phone?

They did for me.
Once she is using the smart card chips, you do not even need to tell Nextel
when you switch phones.
But the 1000i doesn't use the chip.

Another option is to go to a dealer. they will pull her phone book out and
put it into the new phone.

You can call Nextel's Customer Care to have them swap the phones. Going to
a dealer to have them move the phone book works, but will cost you.

Yes, it's called a flip-flop, or that's what they called it when I did it.
