I would like to know if there is a way to password protect my contact
list in my i730?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: You can lock the SIM, but that will also prevent you from
making or receiving calls.

Locking the SIM is the only way. Even if it does restrict the SIM user
from making calls, it does prevent the SIM from being taken from one
unit and used unauthorized in another. This would probably be in his
best interests.

Agreed. I keep all my phones AND my SIMs locked. The phone lock is
easy enough to bypass, but it will still prevent a casual user from
using the phone (even if they have their own SIM)
