Nextel messaging not working

| I used to be able to send my phone an email by using
xxxxxxxxxx@messaging
.nextel.com (where x's are my phone number.) I tried
it several times today and its not working. I also tried using
messaging.sprintpcs.com and it didn't work either.
Could the problem be merger related? Any idea how to send an email to
the phone? I use it for flight notifications/status.

I've reported the following problem message ...
Problems:
1. Sending text messages via emailing phonenumber@messagin
g.nextel.com is
not working, I am not receiving text messages on my cell phone. Can no
longer use internet email to send text messages. Note: Text messages sent
via http://messaging.nextel.com/ does work.
2. Your website http://www.nextel.com/eCareApp/jsp/cell_problem.jsp is down,
cannot report problems online.
Please advise Support Service.

I've been having similar problems with Sprint.
While I've got a trouble ticket opened, it's been suggested that some of
the current problems may be Katrina related.

page is for text paging, messaging is if the subscriber has two-way
text messaging.
