Or is this something that is just upgraded automatically? I know you'll
need an EV-DO phone.

I don't believe you will need a new plan, unless it's going to be cheaper
than you.

It is $15 for business lines and $25 for personal.

Why does Business get cheaper rate than normal people?

Good question. Especially when you consider that wireline telephone
rates and DSL rates for business are higher than for residents.

I suspect the average consumer will use MORE bandwidth than a business
user. Residential users are more likely to surf porn. Etc.

Dammit! It's going to cost $25 for the EV-DO Vision?

My plan right now is 3 lines, 2500 A/T minutes, UL PCS/PCS, N/W,
Unlimited SMS, Vision for $150/month. All features are available on the
lines, so I guess it's a decent grandfathered deal. I activated in early
2003 so it was before all that F&F, F&C, etc stuff.

The main reason they differ is that business dsl accounts tend to use more
upstream traffic and have more incoming connections then a residential
user, assuming that residential user is following the TOS of the isp. This
happens wither or not the business owner is actually using their computer
which allows the usage/cost(isp) of the service to increase without their
direct interaction. Lets also remember that most business class dsl
services are unlimited so there is no increased cost for multiple
employees on the same connection.

Cellphone usage on the other hand requires direct user(employee)
interaction and requires a set per-user cost that is not only an up-front
fee(cost of equipment for example) but also a requiring fee which helps
cell companies line their pockets with guaranteed(on paper) revenue. Any
cellphone usage cost is directly passed on to the business and can not be
shared like dsl. I'm sure companies like sprintpcs realize that if you
make it cheaper for a large business to utilize your service they will
want to not only pay for your service but then also utilize it through out
their entire business.

Basically if sprintpcs gains one residential user that is one account with
the possibility of increasing into a small family plan but if sprintpcs
gains a business they have a better chance of gaining all their employees.
Reduced rates just helps companies that do bulk purchases save money and
give sprintpcs a better chance of getting companies that do bulk purchases.

Hopefully this makes some sense about your question.

I think it's odd also.

I have been hearing that some are activating the new 6700 with the old
vision plan (no changes) and EVDO is working just fine. Hopefully most
of us are grandfathered!
