| Sprint isn't so hot in SoCal, I have been here a year now and service
is spotty at best.
In many cases, the only place where I can consistently receive and make
calls is on
the highways. I've been a Sprint/Nextel Customer for over a decade and
a mobile user
for nearly as long and this is the most dissatisfied I have ever been.
In my previous locale
of Chicago, Sprint worked fine.

Which part of SoCal?

Again... there are plenty of places where Sprint works fine in Southern
California. There may be some where Sprint doesn't work fine, but for you
to say the coverage sucks means nothing unless you let us know where it sucks.
For example, in my area of SoCal which is half(ish) rural and half(ish)
"suburban", up in the High Desert, Verizon has better coverage way out in
the sticks, north of Victorville between there and Barstow. Sprint has none.
East, going towards Lucerne, Sprint has coverage way out past the edge of
Verizon's coverage (except that Verizon has coverage on Highway 18 between
Apple Valley and Lucerne Valley).
So, it all depends on your specific location.
