hi all

My treo 600 has been damaged - I dropped it :(( It is not repareable...
So now I am in process of getting a replacement for it. I have the
full protection plan and am using it...

My problem is: I dont want to get the same old 600 that i had for more
then 1.5 years. I know the 600 is no longer offered on the website,
and the next comparable model is the Treo 650. But how can i be sure
they wont send me an old refurbrished 600 to replace my broken one?

After i asked the lock\line rep about what it will be replaced with, he
couldnt answer for sure. He said that they just pay sprint and sprint
system choses what model is currently available in the warehouse and
sends it out.

Is there anyone on this group that works for Sprint that can verify for
sure what the process is and what are my chances of getting the latest
model?

Thanks in advance!

If they have any refurbished or new Treo 600s remaining, that is what
you will receive. If they don't, you'll get a 650. They will not
upgrade you if they can avoid it.

It wouldn't make any sense for them to voluntarily upgrade for
insurance claims. If they did, there would be an avalanche of users
"losing" outdated phones in order to get a newer model.

The Treo 650 is a $600 device (at least it was last summer when I got
mine). At the time I bought mine they had a $150 discount with a two year
plan, so it cost be $450. At the moment they are selling 650s for $99 with
a two year plan but you probably aren't eligible for that price because
you got your phone 18 months ago and they have a minimum time between new
phones. You ought to find out if they'll give you a 650 for the $99 price,
it they won't then you should just get the replacement. If you are lucky
you'll get a 650 but chances are it will be a 600.
