Author which smartphone for sprint?

I'm currently looking to get 3 smartphones on sprint PCS service (moving my
contracts over from Nextel) I currently have an i930 and its big, heavy,
horrable on battery life, slow iDEN network, etc.

Currently our office has an exchange server running on SBS 2003, so my
biggest concern is being able to get these to sync to get calander
appoitments, tasks and e-mail. It would be NICE if the phone would integrate
with microsoft CRM that we use, but it's not a deal breaker. I have full
access to exchange so I cna make any changes I'd need to so these phones can
sync.

I've been looking at the MOTO Q as well as the Palm treo 700WX, what are the
advantages/disadvantages between the 2? (from what I've read the Q is
smaller and thinner, the 700WX runs a little faster and has slightly longer
battery life) is there anything else?

how does the EVDO network work, do you have to pay extra to access the 3G
network? or does your phone use it (if available in your area?)

To sync with exchange do I NEED a phone with windows mobile? (just curious,
I have nothing against windows mobile)

anything else you can tell me would be greatly appreciated

thanks
Nick

Palm is releasing Monday an update that will allow Palm devices to sync with
Exchange.
That said, you would probably be better with a Windows Mobile device.
The version of Windows Mobile on the Moto Q may still be the stripped down
version that allows you to view but not edit Office files. If you need
that functionality, the Treo 700wx is the only way to go. Also, the Q does
not have touchscreen functionality. Input is by the keyboard only.

thanks for the response... I don't belive touchscreen is 100% needed, not
sure about the mobile office apps, so thanks for that info. do you know much
about microsoft CRM? I'd LOVE to be able to access that through the
smartphone, not sure if it's possible or not with either of these. any idea
how I'd find out?
