| I currently have the Sanyo 4930 and would like to buy a new
replacement phone next week. What is the best no frills
phone with great reception but no camera, ipod or
anything else. I use the phone strickly for business calls,
not entertainment.
Thank you,
Tom

I haven't looked at the line-up lately, but I use my phones
the way you do, strictly for voice. I got a pair of Sanyo 8300's for
myself and my wife because I've been using Sanyo's for years and still
find them the best all around for catching and holding a signal. The
8300 has a camera, but we just ignore it (occasionally I'll play
around with it just for fun). There was a 2300 that was essentially
the same phone without a camera, but I don't know if it's still
selling.
In short, they're throwing cameras into everything nowadays,
but there's no requirement that you use them, and they don't affect
the cost of the phone anymore.

| Thank you David:
Many companies I work with do not allow camera phones on the
premise, or you'll be terminated.

I have a VI-2300, my first Sanyo and the best phone that I've ever had.
I've had Sprint for years, switched to Nextel for a few years and then
back to Sprint. None of my previous phones were able to pick up and hold
calls in the places that the 2300 does. I'll always buy Sanyo from now
on, that is if they stay in the wireless business. I read somewhere
where they are dropping the wireless phone service, it was just a usenet
post and didn't have a link with it so I have no confirmation of that.
Hope it's not true.

| Yesterday, I looked at the new Sanyo SCP 7000, a rugged and basic flip
phone.
Any comments on this new phone?
