Bit of a dilemma here.

T-Mo family plan contract is over. Woohoo! ($49.99, 400 anytime shared, free
N&W).

have had accounts with t-mo (individual before incorporating both lines into
family plan) since sep 2002. Have been a customer for 3 years. Asked T-Mo if
I can get discounted handsets, was told 40 bucks for Nokia 6010, same price
for Moto V188. Am not crazy about cameras, mp3s, just need a phone that has
great voice quality, clarity, hardly drops calls, and SMS ability. Given the
reviews i've read about these 2 models, wouldn't take them. FYI, my current
handsets are SE T300 and Moto V60g (antenna broken, screen dies half the
time).

Cingular's lowest family plan is $69.99 for 700 anytime shared, compared to
t-mo's $59.99 for same plan. Verizon is also 69.99 for same plan. cingular
and verizon cost more for sms (very impt). however, have been told cingular
quality in tampa bay is absolute bullshit and stick to verizon, tmobile, or
sprint.

t-mo's not giving me any handset deals, and i can't get one of those new
customer deals.

what's the best plan i have to get new handsets? or e-bay?

appreciate any suggestions.

Your contract is up and they're not giving you new customer pricing to
reup? They do that in most cases, as long as the customer has paid
reliably. In many cases, they'll do it to get you to extend the
contract even if you're not currently out.

You could try an authorized T-M reseller, as opposed to a company
store or upgrading via the phone. Often, resellers give better deals.

Thanks, I did just that, went to a T-Mobile reseller kiosk in a mall. These
guys were located 2 kiosks away from the "official" T-mo kiosk who refused
to give a new phone.

Got 2 new Samsung X-495 handsets and 1-yr renewal. Wicked! Let's see how
good they work.
