HI All,

Are there any GSM phones on the market that allow control of phone operation
via serial or other connectors.

The same functions controled by keypad to be controlled serially etc.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

I am not interesed in modem or GPRS contol .... just the functional control
of the phone.

Regards
JG

Probably not. However, some manufacturers have a test mode
to allow injection of messages between various software
blocks. You could, for instance generate keyboard events
that way. The bad news is that it's most likely disabled
in the production software. If you are going for a high-volume
product, they may accommodate you.

The more likely option is to take the phone apart and attach
wires to the key switches.

Kind regards,

Iwo

Most of the current Motorola GSM phones (including the RAZR and V551)
can be controlled via USB port, using Motorola Phone tools. It is
possible to use MPT to dial a phone and use its functions (addressbook,
sending/receiving SMS, dialing and placing calls) via c omputer
connected to the phone via USB.
