I just installed one this morning. It's too soon to tell how much it
really helps, but in general, it seems to add one "bar" to my phone's
indicator. I mounted the remote antenna in the attic, as high as
possible, and the transmitter unit (the part shown in the web site you
gave) in the Den.

By the way, I bought mine from a company selling them on ebay for
nearly $100 less than the price at Smarthome.

So? If your phone is 1900, there's no problem.

Seems cool but for that price I can bust my service agreement and sign
up for a carrier with better signal in my house than T-Mo.

Thanks for the quick review Charlie! I also appreciate the pointer to
the ebay dealer. The 1990 is all I need and the benefits of the TMo
service make a $200 investment in signal improvement. Any hum or other
artifacts introduced by the unit?

No, nothing noticable. But as I said, I've really used it less than 24
hours now.

It would definitely be better to go with another provider if you could
get a better signal with them. In my case, T-M seemed to give the best
signal, and it was sometimes marginal. I could get a good signal
outdoors with T-M, whereas with some provider, no signal even
outdoors.

It should be noted that you MUST be able to get a good signal outdoors
for this device to work.

Yeah, i could but im going to pay the price in the rate plan change.
Unlimited gprs for $5.99 + 1000 anytime for 45.99?

All i could find for cingular was Nation 900/w rollover for $59.99
Medianet Unlimited for $19.99

Not worth it... and im not going to verizon or sprint.. eek..

I have tMob and couldn't even get one bar at home with my Moto v180.
Switched to a Nokia 3595 and now I seem to be 1-2 bars to the better much of the
time.

So is T-Mobile, FKA Voicestream. This is the T-Mobile group. Why quibble?
