Probably old news already for some, T-Mobile Internet add-on for
$19.99/mo. goes away at year's end or until your contract runs out. The
$29.99 standalone expired today I believe. The new prices are $29.99
for the add-on and $49.99 for standalone. Both now include WiFi,
EDGE/GPRS, unlimited email and 300 sms. "T-Mobile Total Internet".

That's pretty good pricing if it includes everything you've stated! =
I've got internet and wifi now so this will save me $10/mo. Plus I'm =
paying for SMS by the message.

Thanks for the post.

I see it on their site, but it makes no mention of wifi, just GPRS. Do
you have a link?

If this price hike doesn't include wifi, it may be time for me to
switch to Cingular as they have a $20 all you can eat GPRS plan.

I test-drove the increase by TMo customer service yesterday. They had no
information on any upcoming change, or so they said.

Well, there is some truth to it. The only page I could find on their
site about data, besides the sidekick stuff, was
http://www.t-mobile.com/plans/default.asp?tab=internet and that is
$50.

http://www.t-mobile.com/business/plans/internet.asp and
http://www.t-mobile.com/tmobile_internet/rates.asp still exist, but I
found that with Google, not by navigating menus.

http://www.t-mobile.com/plans/default.asp?tab=internet

$49.99 with WiFi. The add-on is $29.99 with WiFi. The grandfathered
19.99 does not include WiFi.

Aha. It's a WiFi thing.... So that's $10/mo for all the HotSpots?

That pages says nothing of the sort:

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The T-Mobile Internet Unlimited plan gives you:

Unlimited data on the T-Mobile USA network

Instant access to your e-mail

Web browsing and full Internet access

Flexibility in where you work, when you work

$0.20 per minute calling

300 inbound/outbound text messages; $0.05 each additional message

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I'd love for it to be true, but see nothing on the page that says it
is.

While I do see the aforementioned $49.99 plan, I see nothing regarding
wifi explicitly. However, it does say "unlimited data on the T-Mobile
USA network". To me, that also includes wifi. So the real question
becomes whether Tmo sees it that way as well.

I also see nothing about a $29.99 plan.

Also, when you chose a phone and a plan, no more is there a data plan
under "optional services" - even if you pick a data capable phone.

T-Mobile's website is not 100% reliable. Most of the time Ive found it
to be ambiguous or just downright vague. CS also gives conflicting
stories as well. You all doubt me, call 611 from your handset and speak
to someone in wireless data. End of story.
