Unlocked phone problems on T-Mobile

| I bought an unlocked Ericsson T39 to use on my T-Mobile account. The
phone has an intermittent problem finding the network. Most of the
time it shows "No network" message. When it does locate network, it
shows good signal strength (three-four bars). I spend most of my day at
the office without changing my location hence it cannot be caused by
weak signal strength in certain areas.
Are these problems network or phone-related? If it is the phone, what
causes it to "go blind" and then find the network again? I'd greatly
appreciate any advice on how to fix the issue.

| There is a known "no network" problem with T39s. Google it.
There is a fix, but if you're not comfortable with disassemblign the
phone and soldering or shimming surface mounted components, it may not
be for you.
