Author Personal coverage map - what color for reliable indoor service?

I live in a fringe coverage area for most cell providers, however
T-mobile's personal coverage map shows my house as light green (3rd
from the left on the legend).

Is that usually good enough to make/receive calls reliably inside my
house?

My guess is that it depends in part on the construction of the house.

Ours is balloon-frame wood with plastic siding.
Per the map, our coverage is "Good" (fifth square down from "Great").

One cannot make/receive calls reliably inside our house.

It's hopeless in the rec room (one floor and a roof above).
It's iffy on the main floor and in the upstairs bedrooms - maybe one out of four
attempts will succeed, but with poor voice quality.

It really depends. I live in an area 5 boxes from the left, (between good
and fair) and i get full signal outside and inside. Other areas with the
same levels (aka downtown westmont, il) i get about half signal. It all
depeneds. That's what the return policy is for. Worth a shot. Doesn't work
out? Just return. (Or better yet, ask a friend w/a tmobile phone and bring
him to your house. LoL.. That would work too.)
Just keep in mind some phones have better reception than others. My roommate
had a samsung phone and had many issues in our building. I had nothing but
nokia's uptil now. (i have the ipaq now) and i get very good signal and
always have. He got a panasonic x70 and now gets good signal here. We have
tried motorola's here. phone itself is nice, but horrible reception here.
Once you find a phone that works. stick with it! LoL

If your site shows as green, you should have good coverage unless your
home has a metal shield, like what's under stucco. My coverage color
is "Fair", (7 steps down from Great) and I get reliable use in about
half the rooms. I find that what's in the attic also affects
reception, like rooms under the AC unit very poor, but rooms next to a
south exterior wall, OK.

Keep in mind that coverage maps are outside. although a lot of people don't
want to think of it this way, mobile phone service is designed for coverage
while driving. NOTHGING that you will find in a contract will indicate
coverage inside,

Now to qualify that. A lot of the carriers will put cell sites inside
malls/shopping centers.
