reasonable price, so I was wondering if I buy a prepaid Tmobile phone
and swap my SIM for the prepaid SIM, will it work?

| Surprised you're having a problem. I went to TMo yesterday with my friend
and he was offered a Razr v3 for the same price as a new activation customer
and got the same rebate. All he had to do was agree to one additional year.
He grabbed it.

| With the exception of the Sidekick, prepaid & monthly phones are
interchangeable.
However, if there is a mail in rebate on the prepaid phone, you may not
receive it if the prepaid SIM is not being used in the phone.

| The problem is I just upgraded my phone [Samsung x475] two months ago
but it's a piece of garbage, and Tmobile wouldn't offer me a better deal
than $180 on anything else, which is way above the MSRP.

| Remember that you can by your GSM phones from any source as long as they're
unlocked (or locked to your carrier). Try ebay for a better deal on what you
want.

As much as I hate Cingular, as much as I want to refuse to give my money to
any entity owned by Sucks Big <Censored> Communications... :) I am pretty
sure that T-Mobile has exactly zero phones with the features I want.
(Actually, what I really want is a Samsung P207, but they're only selling
them online with new activation. But there are other Cingular phones that
have what I want)
Anyone know how hard it is to get a Cingular phone unlocked, perhaps one
bought off eBay?
