If I buy a (hopefully serial) data cable for a Samsung x475,
will I be able to use it for circuit-switched data calls
without having to install proprietary software on my
computer?
Are "free nights and weekends" just for voice calls, or are
circuit-switched data calls free too?

| CSD always comes out of your voice minutes, so CSD is free on nights and
weekends if you have the appropriate voice plan.
I don't have any experience with the Samsung unit, so I can't help you
there.
