Author gsm repeater for home

T Mobile has a new tower 200 yds from my home and outdoors I gget 3-4+
In the house it is 0-1. We have a stucco house which has a metal screen
covering to hold the stucco. I wonder if this is the reason for the drop.
Is it possible to get a car-like antenna or repeater to boost my home
signal?

Check these guys out:

http://www.cellantenna.com/index.html

I bought one of their outdoor directional antennas, which works great at my
cabin (went from 0-1 bar to 2 bars). The only downside is that my cell
phone needs to be plugged into a coax cable. I couldn't justify the $450
cost of a full blown repeater system.

I thought that there might be car-like antennas that would carry the
signal into the house as through a window

Yes, thank you but I had in mind a lesser remedy

Doesn't get lesser than that unless you buy that foil sticker for the
back of your phone (smirk). Cool page Mike, though I dont like the idea
of a tethered antenna.

You get 3 to 4 bars being well less than a half a mile from a tower even
standing outdoors?? I'd be looking at other phones and calling T-Mobile to
see what the problem is...

Here's a solution that might work: www.wirelessextenders.com and the
unit is on sale for $275 at www.smarthome.com.

I just thought I'd let you know that the Wireless Extender is
available on Ebay for $199 + $15 shipping.

I haven't found a better price yet. I'm about to buy one (he's got
about 50 of them). I've got a tin roof on my house and metal
blinds... absolutely no service inside and 4 bars outside. It's
crazy.
