Author BlackBerry Pearl issues?

Does anyone know if there have been any issues with the BlackBerry Pearl,
perhaps the battery specifically?

I received mine from T-Mobile a week ago Friday. I didn't use it much over
last weekend (charged it, synced it to Outlook on my computer, put some
media files for wallpaper on it), but was out of town on business from
Monday through last night and it was working fine in any way I needed it
to (calls, calendar, e-mail, etc.). I had synced and charged it last
weekend with the USB cable and charged it on the road with the travel
charger. Everything seemed fine.

I turned the phone off last night after I got home, and when I turned it
back on this afternoon, it is acting as if the battery is completely
drained (the icon on the screen shows no charge, when I plug in either the
USB cable or the travel charger, it does not indicate on the battery
display onscreen that it is plugged in. I've removed the battery and put
it back in and nothing changes.

It's strange and I'm wondering if maybe I got a defective battery...or
could it be something with the operating system?

Does anyone have any experience that closely resembles this problem?

Thanks for any help. I really like the Pearl..,but of course it has to
work for me to continue to like it.

I am having a repeat occurance of the same problem. I have had the
phone for two weeks and it has died, VERY DEAD, at least five times. I
am taking it back today. It is a great phone but like you say. It has
to work in order to be any good.
