T-Mobile resellers getting thin?

| I was with T-Mobile about two years ago and was very impressed with them
overall. Having a new T-Mobile tower about half a mile from the house was a
big plus. At that time just about every wireless reseller in the area
carried them, now only Wal-Mart and Sam's offers T-Mobile locally. Everyone
seems to be pushing Cingular and Verizon. I want a Sidekick II, but no
reseller within 100 miles stocks them. Went ahead and ordered via Amazon.
Is T-Mobile downsizing their reseller network or ?

Do you mean you don't have a dozen or so small shops/kiosks on every
other corner of your town offering phones/equipment/plans from all known
and unknown wireless companies? Or these small dealers don't carry T-
mobile in your area??? Or you are just looking for the big expensive
chain stores who sell at fixed prices and often have no idea what they're
selling (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.)?
If it's the later - yes, it seems like many of these focus on a single
carrier, which most likely gives them extra incentives (e.g. same way
that most restaurants carry either coke or pepsi products but never both,
because of the exclusive contract incentives from these companies). If
it's the former - I'd be very very very surprised!

| Tons of small kiosk and shops around town, but none of them offer T-Mobile.
Only Wal-Mart and Sam's carry them. I'd say at least 6 or 8 of the small
shops offered T-Mobile a few years ago. Now it seems like they all push
Cingular and Verizon only.

| Must be a local thing. Here in Honolulu all the indies pretty much offer
at least 3 carriers but some do specialize in just one or two. TCA
Wireless consistently beats the carriers in terms of price and
knowledgeable salespeople.

| Here in the Dayton, Ohio area, there are tons of T-Mobile kiosks. In the
Dayton Mall alone, there is a T-Mobile corporate store and at least 3 kiosks
which carry T-Mobile.
