I bought an unlocked Motorola PEBL off e-Bay that I am using on T-Mobile.
I received it yesterday and so far so good, at least as far as the most
basic stuff (calls, syncing with phonebook and calendar via Phone Tools,
etc.).

I, of course, need to change some data settings so that I can use the web
browser, voicemail, etc.

I have used the search function on Howard Forums and also a general
Internet search for info, but the information is so spread out that it
makes my head hurt.

Does anyone know of a spot where I can find basic instructions for
tweaking the PEBL all in a simple and linear format? The more info the
better, since there are probably things I need to adjust, or may want to
adjust, that I'm not even aware of yet, I'm sure.

I'd appreciate whatever direction you can give me. Thanks.

I think I'm going to really love this phone.

I used the instructions here:
http://www.howardforums.com/archive/topic/282725-1.html
to configure an unlocked ROKR, and SLVR to use T-Zones.

Thanks for the links, NB and Bruce. They were helpful and I was able to
set up GPRS, MMS, Voicemail, etc.

One final question (I think) where setup is concerned. It appears that
I won't be getting a voicemail waiting alert on the unlocked phone? I
receive a blank text message with a strange return address (some iconic
looking thing that looks like a charger plug or soemthing with the @
symbol) that I assume is intending to let me know I have a vociemail,
but no actual icon indicator. Any idea if there is a way to correct
this?

Another question related to the PEBL and syncing in particular...I have
used Motorla Phone Tools to sync my Outlook Calnder and Contacts and to
transfer photo and mp3 files. It works OK for the file transfer and I
can live with the contacts sync, but the calendar does not sync well.
Recurring appointments in particular give it problems (I think this is
a widespread issue?), but just in general I don't trust what I'm
winding up with on my phone.

Any tweaks you can suggest, or is there an obiously better Outlook
Calendar syncing software option for the PEBL? I thinkcurrently I may
use the WAP version of my Yahoo! Calendar instead of syncing Outlook to
the phone.

Again, thanks!
