I've requested it on sonic.net. It's incredible that it took so long for
this group to be created.

There was a bit of resistance by those who like to hoard power I guess.

Still a long way from making it, as it's not carried by the Worldnet part of
SBC, Google, and other big news providers I've checked.

OK ... I didn't post my response here that I did in alt.cellular.cingular.
So, I will rephrase it differently here. You didn't bother to check some of
the biggest carriers then like Easynews and Supernews. We know full well
Giganews will take it up soon.

I "bothered" to check some other large carriers, two of which I identified by
name. My apologies for not checking the ones you happened to think of.

Geez dude. What IS your problem? This is a damn ALT group we're talking
about here. I could understand you're being hacked off by some rogue rec.
mgroup but alt's are NOT BFDs. Hell Google still carries tons of hipcrime
groups so that's no indication of anything.

This effort seems very personal to you.

It's up on sonic.net.

Can anyone figure out why Navas is so upset about alt.cellular.t-mobile?

It's pretty clear why he lies so much about Cingular, but why was he so
adamantly against alt.cellular.t-mobile? The only plausible reason that
I could come up with, is that he doesn't want new newsgroups when a
carrier changes names because if the AT&T acquisition of BellSouth goes
through, then Cingular will become AT&T Wireless, and alt.cellular.attws
will take the place of alt.cellular.cingular, which is a group that
Navas originally proposed.

Navas gets upset about most everything that he's not directly involved
in. Seems to me getting upset over this whole thing is ridiculous.
This newsgroup's not going away, so nobody's going to force him to go
over to T-Mobile. And since he's not a T-Mobile customer, I'm not sure
why he cares anyway.

I'd say that's it.

There is a few people i just ignore. He is one of them. I hate visiting
the cingular group just for that reason too.

Phil,

Sorry to say but SBC/ATT "KC News" in MO does not yet have
alt.cellular.t-mobile.

bummer -
I guess each SBC/ATT regional news server
has to have the add request made locally...

There's no particular reason to use SBC's regional news servers.
I use the central one, news.prodigy.net, and it carries alt.cellular.t-mobile.
You can use any of SBC's news (NNTP) servers with the same username
and password.

If you want the newsgroup to take off, it needs to be on ALL of the news
servers, particularly Google. Untill that happens, people will continue
using the old group.

Request it. It is now avaible with Giganews and all of its customers (like
Comcast). Personally, I think posts from Google have done little postive
justice for USENET.

Maybe not, but being able to search postings using Google is essential. If
the group isn't on Google, people won't switch.

I suspect it won't show up automagically, so somebody needs to request it.
