Author City Navigator - Rest Areas

I have City Navigator Ver. 6 on my Garmin 2610 and my main complaint is that
I can only see Rest Areas when I zoom into 500 feet. Well by that time I've
already read the road signs and can physically see the rest area. My
complaint is that with the MapQuest software I had on my E-Map, I could see
Rest Areas miles ahead of me. If I had to I could just stop along side of
the road if I needed to, but traveling with a dog it's kind of nice to see
if I should stop at the one I'm about to pass or wait until the next one...
which may be 10 miles away or 75 miles away. I know about the Waypoint
search, but it'd be nice if I could program the 2610 to show them along the
road too.

I have Street Pilot II and using City Navigator, and it always report =
the
NEXT EXIT (including next Rest Area) so the distance can be less than 1 =
mile
to several miles ahead. Anyway, it won't say but display on screen.

I agree with Joe, in fact going down I-39 in Illinois my 2610 shows a
rest area that isn't there. Rest areas are also covered if you do a
search under POIs. I also see Wisconsin is posting the lat/long of their
rest areas on their web site, maybe other states are doing the same.

I had noticed that rest areas show up only when the map scale is at
8 miles. They disappear below that which is odd. Looks like they show up
again at 500 ft :)
