Does anyone out there have access to a Go 300 and Go 500 and could you
do a small test for me please?

Could you please tell me if the voices sound the same on both units?
Especially 'Jane'from the UK.

One should have a different pitch to the other due to the processor
speed difference. (This is what customer support tell me anyway)

Is there a difference and if so, which sounds normal to you, the 500 or
the 300?

Does the 300 voice sound slightly slower and deeper or does the 500
sound a litte quicker with a higher pitch?

I'm trying to work out which unit has the correct sound. i.e., Is the
500 correct and the 300 is playing the voices slower due to a slower
processor, or is the 300 the correct one and the 500 is playing it
faster and therefore incorrectly.

I'm trying to get to the bottom of something here.. No I'm not crazy :)

Got a Navigator for PocketPC, a GO 300 and a 700 here and no discernible
difference in pitch between any of them.

Thanks for your response Darren..

No difference? Hmmm...

I just came back from a departement store and tested the 300 v the 500
and the pitch is clearly different.

I'm curious as to why your 300 and 700 have the same pitch. I would
have been happier to hear that they are different.

The units I tested have 5.2.0.1 software.

I don't think the processor speed makes a difference. I've tested TomTom 5
side by side on my 400mhz PocketPC and on my smartphone, which I assume is
much slower.. and it's exactly the same.

How would the processor speed affect the voice pitch on any of these GO
devices. I would think the voice would remian the same and be set at a
low enough setting that processor speed would be negligible.
