| Hi,
When I turn my Garmin Venture gps to "waas enabled" I get satl 50 and
51, but I never get any signal on those satelites. Does anybody knows
what the problem is? Is also saw another Garmin and he had sat 30 and
34... What's the difference?
Kind regards,
Maarten

GPS Satellite PRN range from 1-31
IIRC PRN 32 is also used for something
WAAS - PRN 122 (Garmin 35) - Inmarsat 3F4 (AOR-W)
WAAS - PRN 134 (Garmin 47) - Inmarsat 3F3 (POR)
EGNOS - PRN 120 (Garmin 33) - Inmarsat 3F2 (AOR-E 15.5°W)
EGNOS - PRN 124 (Garmin 37) - Artemis (21.5°E)
EGNOS - PRN 126 (Garmin 39) - Inmarsat 3F5 (IOR-W/F5 25.0°E)
EGNOS - PRN 131 (Garmin 44) - Inmarsat 3F1 (IOR 64.0°E)

Thanks for the information! But why does my garmin tries to find sat 50
and 51? They are not in your list.
Kind regards,
Maarten

The following PRNs have been allocated to the MSAS system:
MTSAT-1 - PRN 129 (Garmin 42)
MTSAT-2 - PRN 137 (Garmin 50)
I'll see if I can find a more complete allocation list and
Post it.

Hi,
Thanks again, but I still have one question.
According to your list, my Garmin gps tries to find the MSAS system
which is for the Japanese region. I live in Europe. How can I force my
Garmin to search for the EGNOS sats?
Kind regards,
Maarten

I found the info from this page very helpful in registering the two
WAAS satellites visible from where I live in California. I don't know
if it's as applicable to your situation, but I expect it is.
