Hello! I am a quite happy user of handheld Garmin GPSs (92 and 96c) but my
next club's airplane will have a GNS430. As far as I can see it is quite
good for IFR but is is almost dummy for VFR, at least here in Italy. We have
some 300 VFR reporting points" that are not in any Jeppesen database and an
other 300+ airstrips that are not listed anywhere. For the handhelds, I
prepared a file containg names, IDs and coordinates for them and I uploaded
them to the GPS. Now, with the 430, it looks that the only way to upload my
nearly 700 waypoints is to do one-by-one, with the knobs: non way to upload
via P.C. I wonder if it would be possible to do something, possibly through
the MapData cards and the USB adapter. Any other suggestion for me? Thanks.
